I got Tales of Hearts last Christmas, and I honestly don't know how far I am. I think I'm in a castle of some sort with all the party members, and running in circles despite help from the lengthy guide I printed out. I really need to learn how to read kanji, reading katakana and hiragana just doesn't help much.
I do like it, it's a nice change from replaying Symphonia 1 & 2 over and over again. though i could really use some help learning how to upgrade the Soma and TEACH ARTES. i cannot understand how the system works and have been using First Aid and Chisaishou for far too long.
but I digress. Hisui, I love you. and drawing you and your lady hair and your futuristic crossbow.

XD I know its kinda irritating since Hisui doesn't get a lot of skills. There's actually a trick on how to get skills too 8D
In the SOMA screen, there's different type of icons, if you've noticed, and the ones in violet are usually skills. The way to get skills is by getting the items needed. I buy the items needed in those stores that sell different items, not the apple gel or the accessory items.
I had a hard time playing through the game myself and I can read and understand japanese, but just explore around and you'll be fine. If you are having a hard time, drop me a line and I'll help you out
